3D Art Week 02

Minecraft-ish Boxes & Textures in UE4

First I created a beveled cube in Maya and UVed corresponding to the UV Layout below.

Then, I applied a blinn to the cube with a test texture.  The cube was then exported as an FBX.

I created the textures in photoshop using a 3 x 3 box grid and a total image size of 48px X 48px.  I saved the textures in targa format and imported them into UE4.

After bringing the textures in, I connected them to the base material from last week's project.

I made material instances for all the textures I wanted to use in my level design.

Then I built the level design inspired by M. C. Escher's surreal looking artwork.

This is the final BEAUTY SHOT.
